Co-Investigator


Professor Mario R. Delos Reyes is the International Co-Investigator and In-Country Lead Investigator for the Philippines of the GCRF Centre for Sustainable, Healthy, and Learning Cities and Neighborhoods, a project supported by the Global Challenges Research Fund of UK Research and Innovation.

Mario is the Dean at the University of the Philippines School of Urban and Regional Planning (UP SURP), Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines and the President of the UP Planning and Development Research Foundation, Inc. (PLANADES), the foundation of UP SURP. His research interests and experiences include environmental and natural resources policy and planning, climate change adaptation and disaster risk management, public-private partnerships for the urban environment, coastal (marine and freshwater) planning and management, and biodiversity-focused strategic environmental assessment.

Dr. Delos Reyes is currently the Asia-Pacific Representative of the Steering Committee for the Habitat Partner Universities Initiative or UNI, and the Advisory Board member of the UN HABITAT Philippines. He is a member of the Regional Development Council for Metro Manila representing the academe. He received the 2016 Meritorious Public Service Award in the field of environmental governance awarded by the University of the Philippines President and approved by the UP Board of Regents.
