Senior Business Manager

As SHLC’s Senior Business Manager, Gail oversees project management and implementation of research and capacity-strengthening activities to ensure the project delivers strategic objectives. Her role covers: finance, administration, recruitment, communications, events, knowledge-exchange, research impact, monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder engagement and reporting to the funder.

Gail has more than a decade of professional experience working in project management and strategic communications roles within the international development sector, most recently for the UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID). She has a MSc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics where she specialised in development theory, history and practice and developed a keen interest in communications for development.

Prior to joining the University of Glasgow as SHLC’s Senior Business Manager, Gail designed, implemented and evaluated communication activities supporting DFID’s humanitarian response. Previously she worked in research management and communications roles at the Overseas Development Institute and Imperial College London.
