Chenguang Li

Lecturer


Dr. Chenguang Li is a lecturer of Urban Studies at Zhou Enlai School of Government in Nankai University, China.

He is responsible for the research on the evolution and development of neighbourhood in China’s two case cities at SHLC. Dr. Li also chaired and participated in a number of research projects on neighbourhood renewal, urban transformation, and liveability of high-rise housing. He focuses on community planning and residential environment evaluation, and has published 8 referred articles and contributed to 2 books.

Before becoming a scholar, he worked as an architect in China Architecture Design and Research Group, and established his own planning and design center. He involved and led over 30 projects including urban design, new town planning, housing estate planning and design, and received a number of national and provincial awards. Based on the practical experiences, his study is concerned with the whole process of community development and residential environment generation.
